Well here it is! The list of releases that we DID get for this year's Record Store Day. Keep in mind that all of the releases are extremely limited in total number made, and many of ones that we did get, we only got 1 copy of.

We open at 9:00am

There is a limit of 1 of a title per person and a total limit of 3 Black Friday Record Store Day releases per person. We have these limits in place, as we don’t have a ton of these releases and want to give all of our customers a chance to get something they want. Record Store Day Black Friday

Black Friday Record Store Day is coming up next week. Also known as Mini Record Store Day, or Record Store Day Part 2, whichever you prefer, its a great day to shop at your local record store and get your hands on some limited edition vinyl releases by your favorite artists.

Sunshine Daydream will open at 9am on Friday November 28th with sales throughout the store and lots of special RSD vinyl records. These are limited edition pressings by many different bands. The complete list of what is being released can be found here. This list does not mean that we will have all of these for sale in our shop. As our allotment of Black Friday Record Store Day releases are just starting to trickle in and we have several different distributors shipping to us, we will not know everything that we have for sale until late Wednesday. We will post our list of available titles on our storefront door and on our facebook event page sometime on Thanksgiving day.

We are an official Record Store Day Participating Store, but because we are a smaller shop, we don't always get all the releases that we want (but we do get what we need...LOL), so we have some rules for our shop on these Record Store Days. Out of the titles that we do receive, we may only get 1 copy of a certain title or we may get multiples. 

There is a limit of 1 of a title per person and a total limit of 3 Black Friday Record Store Day releases per person. We have these limits in place, as we don’t have a ton of these releases and want to give all of our customers a chance to get something they want. Sorry, we can’t hold items, and it is first come first served. Any unsold releases will be available on our website on Monday 12/1.

Record Store Day at Sunshine Daydream

Record Store day is almost here. We will open at 10am on Saturday 4/19 with free coffee and pastries to get the day started. We will have lots of limited edition records for sale (the list of our supply is below), there will be store giveaways, sale prices thoughout the store and more. Record Store Day

Tomorrow is Record Store Day, and unfortunately Sunshine Daydream Chicago was unable to secure any of the limited edition releases that are coming out tomorrow. We suggest that you check out www.recordstoreday.com for other Chicagoland area record stores that may have some of the limited edition releases for sale. 

We tried and ordered many of the record store day releases, but we weren’t shown any love from the record companies for these limited releases, not even for the Grateful Dead or Phish vinyl releases. I guess we don’t move enough music to warrant getting any of the limited record store day releases.

We do have some free jamband compilation CDs to giveaway. Some of the bands on these CDs include Drive By Truckers, Michael Franti, String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, Phish, & Toubab Krewe just name a few. These jamband compilation CDs are free while supplies last, and only at Sunshine Daydream Chicago.

Because it is Record Store Day tomorrow, Sunshine Daydream Chicago will be having a storewide sale.

All vinyl new and used will be 20% off regular price.

All single used CD's will be $5.99 or less.

This Saturday, Sept. 5, Sunshine Daydream Chicago presents another Vinyl Saturday with 2 very big limited edition releases on vinyl.

Pearl Jam's "The Fixer" 45 single on white vinyl with a glow in the dark picture sleeve.

Mars Volta Octahedron That’s right, the full length vinyl version of the new record, with pretty bells-and-whistles packaging.

Tomorrow Saturday April 18th is Record Store Day. Stores all around the country are pulling out all the stops with special in store performances, limited edition releases on both vinyl and CD and lots of giveaways and fun for all.

While we here at Sunshine Daydream Chicago will not have any special in store performances, we do have something better and more fitting for our shop.

We will have many of the new and limited edition releases for sale that are coming out on Record Store Day. My Morning Jacket, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Sublime, AC/DC, Derek Trucks, and more. These limited edition releases are limited to 1 per person and while supplies last. We only received a few copies of many of the releases, so don't waste time , come on down to Sunshine Daydream Chicago, tomorrow - Record Store Day! We open at 11am.

We will also have a sale on all single CDs. They will be $13.99 or less. Purses will all be on sale at 30% off. Rock n Roll T-shirts are all Buy 1 get the 2nd at half price, and if you spend at least $75 in our shop on Record Store Day, we will kick you down a FREE "One Man Gathers..." Recycle T-shirt.

But the best thing we have to offer, and we are pretty sure that NOBODY else is doing this, are some free concert tickets.

We are giving away (that means free, zilch, zip, no cost, no charge, no money out of pocket) a pair of tickets to see The Dead at The Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Tues. May 5th. Its gonna be a hot show cause its Cinco de Mayo and the Dead are playing.
