We are having a 12 days of Christmas contest and giveaway on facebook. Everyday, someone on our facebook page will win. 12 days of Christmas - 12 winners in all.

Here's how it works: Each day, go to our website and find something you wish to find under your tree. It can be anything we sell. Tie Dye, stickers, tapestries, incense, if we sell it on our website, you could win it. Post what you wish for on our facebook page with a link to the item on our website, and each day starting today at 11:00pm, we will pick someone and they will win their wish.

Now the fine print: You must be a fan of our facebook page to win. Each day you must pick something different and post it to our facebook page. You can only win 1 time during the whole contest. Make your wishes reasonable. The economy sux and I am not giving away $50 hoodies for 12 days straight. I might for 1 or 2 days though. If you win, you can pick your prize up at our store. If you’re not local, we'll ship it to you. No purchase required. The head hippie decides all winners.

'Twas the night before a Dead show and all through the place,
All the heads were dosed - just trippin' to space.
The joints were all rolled with precision and care,
With hopes that St. Stephen soon would be there.

The freaks were nestled all stoned in their beds,

When out from the stage there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
O' way to the stadium I flew with my stash,
I kicked down the gate - it fell with a crash.

the light from the orb, hanging so high.
Blinded me like I was Born cross Eyed.
And what to my red glossy eyes should appear,
A shadowed figure, could it be Mr. Weir?

No, too big to be Bob, too short to be Phil,
Could it be Mickey, Vince, or maybe even Bill?
He started to sing and the sound from his lips,
Assured me at once that he was Captain Trips!

His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry,
I exclaimed in excitement, "Oh Wow! It's Jerry."
I couldn't believe it - just Jerry and Me,
"Play something" I said. "Play Sugaree."

The Fat man jammed - he was on a roll,
With his sweet songs, he rocked my soul.
Jerry spoke once, and his message was plain:
"Gotta go now," he said. "It looks Like Rain."

But I heard him exclaim as he walked out of sight,
"Good Lovin' to all, and I bid You Goodnight."

Tie Dye Wrapping Paper

Open early (well, earlier than usual) till late during the week. For you last minute types, we'll even be open on Christmas Eve from 9am - 3pm.

Holiday Shipping Update

There is still time to get your holiday gifts and have them in time for Chanukah or Christmas. Today is the last day for standard ground shipping. 

After today, orders will have to go Priority to make it in time. In stock orders placed by 3pm Central, will ship the same day. We're located in the Chicago area, and can get your order to you quicker than the other guys. Priority shipping and our Midwest location, put us on either coast in just a few days.

The elves at Sunshine Daydream are working day and night to get your orders out, but the sooner you order, the better. Supplies of many items in our web store are limited this year, and once we run out, that's it until after the new year.

Be sure and check your spam or junk folder in your email program. Our order confirmation emails often end up there. You can also add us to your safe senders list and that will solve the problem.

We use the U.S. Postal Service  (for better or worse) to ship orders. Overall, they have been pretty good with our packages. As the clock winds down, Express Mail will be the only option for holiday delivery. They are the only ones who will deliver as late as Christmas Eve.

Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies & Blankets

Just in the St. Nick of time! 

One final shipment of the Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies have arrived. We even got a few Grateful Dead Alpaca Blankets in this shipment. They look just as cool as the hoodies and are made from the same super soft alpaca wool. With Christmas just around the corner and Chanukah starting even sooner, either one of these would make a great gift for your favorite deadhead this holiday season. Grateful Dead Alpaca Update

Great News!

Sunshine Daydream is getting more Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies just in time for Christmas! We have one more shipment due to arrive on Tuesday 12/13/11. I am not sure of what colors, but we will have them in sizes Medium - 2XLarge. You will be able to order them on Tuesday and all orders placed by 3pm central will ship that day. If you are local, and want to come in and get one, call us (847-550-9999) on Tuesday to check and see if we have your size & color in stock. We will hold it for you up to 48 hours. 

Don't wait if you want one of these. They were sold on the most recent Furthur tour and are now very hard to find, but we got lucky and scored some! After we sell out of these I am not sure when we will get more. Our Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies are made in Ecuador and are super warm and comfy and look great. We have them back in stock, but not many. A very limited amount, in different sizes and colors.

This is our second and final shipment before Christmas. But these are the shit! Grateful Dead alpaca hoodies! 100% baby alpaca wool from a cruelty-free alpaca farm in Ecuador. The front has the dancing bears and the back has a huge Steal Your Face design, and boy are they toasty warm! It has 2 side pockets and zips up. They come in a few different colors, but we don't have all sizes in all the colors.

Record Store Day

Tomorrow is Record Store Day, and unfortunately Sunshine Daydream Chicago was unable to secure any of the limited edition releases that are coming out tomorrow. We suggest that you check out www.recordstoreday.com for other Chicagoland area record stores that may have some of the limited edition releases for sale. 

We tried and ordered many of the record store day releases, but we weren’t shown any love from the record companies for these limited releases, not even for the Grateful Dead or Phish vinyl releases. I guess we don’t move enough music to warrant getting any of the limited record store day releases.

We do have some free jamband compilation CDs to giveaway. Some of the bands on these CDs include Drive By Truckers, Michael Franti, String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, Phish, & Toubab Krewe just name a few. These jamband compilation CDs are free while supplies last, and only at Sunshine Daydream Chicago.

Phish Festival - Super Ball 9 - July 4th Weekend

It's Phish's biggest. Ball. Ever. So big we can't. Contain it. In one sentence. Super Ball IX, Phish's ninth festival, will take place July 1-3 at Watkins Glen International. Located amidst the rolling hills of central New York's Finger Lakes region, the site offers an abundance of campsites and is just a short drive from numerous Northeastern cities. Super Ball IX will mark Phish's first-ever performance over July 4 weekend, and the first major music festival held at Watkins Glen since 1973's legendary Summer Jam. It is also Phish's first-ever performance at a facility with "Watkins" in its name.

Tickets for Super Ball IX go on sale this Monday, April 4th, at Noon ET at superballIX.portals.musictoday.com. On-site camping is included in the price of admission. Like previous Phish festivals, the event will include numerous activities, attractions and art installations in addition to a series of performances by the band.
