Phish Reunion Concert Ticket Giveaway

In case you have not already heard, the members of Phish will come together on March 6th, 7th and 8th of next year for three shows at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia. The concerts will be the group's first since its August 2004 performance at Newport State Airport in Coventry, Vermont. The band intends to announce additional 2009 tour dates early next year.

Hampton Coliseum is a favorite venue of both the band and its fans. Phish has played a dozen shows there thus far and recorded the GRAMMY®-nominated, six-CD set Hampton Comes Alive at the venue in 1998.

Thanks to our friends, we will have a pair of tickets to give away to see them at one of their 3 Hampton concerts. We have been having email server problems the past two days. If you have emailed us and have not received a response or if your email bounced back to you as undeliverable, we are sorry. We are not sure how long this problem will last, and our crack team of IT folks are furiously working to fix this problem. Tent Sale Sunday October 5!

We are having our 1st annual fall tent sale on Sunday October 5 from 11am - 6pm. It will be held in our parking lot under our tie dye canopy tents. There will be giveaways, and many sale items. And no, we won't be selling any tents. But we will have lots of great clothes and music on sale, some below cost. All this in our store and under our tie dye tent in our parking lot. Look for it! We have been cleaning house and are going to be having clearance merchandise, oddball stuff that we have accumulated over the 10 years in business, some slightly damaged goods at greatly reduced prices and lots more. Phish get back together for 1 night only.

The Dead to reunite and play for Obama

The news is that the boys will gather on October 13 at the Bryce Jordan Center at the Penn State campus in State College, PA. The date will mark the first time in four years that Dead alumni Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart will have performed together. Bob, Phil, & Mickey got back together in February for a benefit concert to support Barack Obama. Billy was unable to attend. Word on the street is that the boys will be embarking on a tour in early 2009. No info on ticket sales yet.

Grateful Dead back together to perform?

Could it be? Is it possible?

Fox news is reporting (that's a stretch in itself) that the surviving members of the Grateful Dead, along with Warren Haynes will perform on October 13 for 1 show to raise awarness for our next (hopefully) president, Barack Obama. According to reports, the show will take place in Philadelphia or Pittsburgh. A 2009 tour is also mentioned.

Our shop in the Mt. Prospect (NW Chicago suburbs) is looking for 1-2 good people. 15-25 hours per week. Qualifications are listed below. Please don't bother applying if you think working at Sunshine Daydream is sitting on your ass doing nothing and just jamming out. I don't mean to sound harsh, but lazy people are not wanted. Most people who work for us either don't last 30 days, or they stay around for 4-5 years. It can be a great part time job with all kinds of perks, but there is work involved.

Working for us, you will help customers, stock merchandise, work on our website, pack and ship orders, etc., all the while you are listening to your favorite jamband music in a pretty cool environment. Sometimes we get FREE tickets to local concerts and we usually pass them on to the employees and employees get a discount on most merchandise. It can be a cool place to work at. Sometimes its slow and boring but you can always find thing to do. And yes you could get yelled at if you do something stupid while working at Sunshine Daydream. Political correctness isn't my strong suit. Bullshit isn't tolerated either.

Wilmette Days Fest

If you are in the Chicagoland area, come check us out at Wilmette Days Fest this Friday & Saturday. Just look for our tie dye colored booth. We will be set up right in front of the village hall and will have our usual menagerie of merchandise. Lots of purses and lots of tie dye. Its a fun fest and perfect for the whole family. If you are there, stop by the booth and say hi!

Our Vending Schedule

We are happy to be a part of the inaugural Rothbury Festival, July 4th weekend. Sunshine Daydream will also be back at the 10,000 Lakes Festival for our 5th year in a row. Ratdog coming to Chicago next month?

Ratdog has started to announce their spring tour. The tour starts in St. Paul on 3/21. While there is no Chicago date yet on the tour calendar, they do have a show scheduled at the Riverside in Milwaukee on 3/22 and the next 2 days open. A Chicago show is likely to be either on 3/23 or 3/24, probably at the Vic or the Riviera.

Grateful Dead to Rock for Barack

"Deadheads for Obama"

The 4 surviving members of the Grateful Dead will reunite for a concert for Barack Obama on Monday night at The Warfield in San Francisco. With Super Tuesday the next day, Bobby, Mickey, Phil, & Bill will jam together in a "Get Out and Vote" concert to support Obama. They will be joined by Jackie Greene, John Molo, and Steve Molitz.

Makes me really wish I was living in Cali, so among other things I could go to this show. Oh well, at least I can see the show on the internet. The video website iclips, is supposed to stream the concert in a live broadcast starting at 7pm PST.

Widespread Panic coming to Chicago

We are freezing our asses off here in the windy city, and are trying to keep warm by thinking warm thoughts and thinking about Spring time!

Spring time is Panic time. Widespread Panic will play 3 shows April 11-13, here in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre. Tickets go on sale next Saturday Feb. 3rd at Ticketmaster. While the boys usually play the Chicago Theatre, this time they are headed a few blocks south to play the equally grand Auditorium Theatre.
