The freaks were nestled all stoned in their beds,

When out from the stage there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
O' way to the stadium I flew with my stash,
I kicked down the gate - it fell with a crash.

the light from the orb, hanging so high.
Blinded me like I was Born cross Eyed.
And what to my red glossy eyes should appear,
A shadowed figure, could it be Mr. Weir?

No, too big to be Bob, too short to be Phil,
Could it be Mickey, Vince, or maybe even Bill?

Holiday Shipping Update

There is still time to get your holiday gifts and have them in time for Chanukah or Christmas. Today is the last day for standard ground shipping.

After today, orders will have to go Priority to make it in time. In stock orders placed by 3pm Central, will ship the same day. We're located in the Chicago area, and can get your order to you quicker than the other guys. Priority shipping and our Midwest location, put us on either coast in just a few days.

The elves at Sunshine Daydream are working day and night to get your orders out, but the sooner you order, the better. Supplies of many items in our web store are limited this year, and once we run out, that's it until after the new year.

Be sure and check your spam or junk folder in your email program. Our order confirmation emails often end up there. You can also add us to your safe senders list and that will solve the problem.

We use the U.S. Postal Service (for better or worse) to ship orders. Overall, they have been pretty good with our packages. As the clock winds down, Express Mail will be the only option for holiday delivery. They are the only ones who will deliver as late as Christmas Eve.

Great News!

Sunshine Daydream is getting more Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies just in time for Christmas! We have one more shipment due to arrive on Tuesday 12/13/11. I am not sure of what colors, but we will have them in sizes Medium - 2XLarge. You will be able to order them on Tuesday and all orders placed by 3pm central will ship that day. If you are local, and want to come in and get one, call us (847-550-9999) on Tuesday to check and see if we have your size & color in stock. We will hold it for you up to 48 hours.

Don't wait if you want one of these. They were sold on the most recent Furthur tour and are now very hard to find, but we got lucky and scored some! This is our second and final shipment before Christmas. But these are the shit! Grateful Dead alpaca hoodies! 100% baby alpaca wool from a cruelty-free alpaca farm in Ecuador. The front has the dancing bears and the back has a huge Steal Your Face design, and boy are they toasty warm! It has 2 side pockets and zips up. They come in a few different colors, but we don't have all sizes in all the colors.

Record Store Day

Tomorrow is Record Store Day, and unfortunately Sunshine Daydream Chicago was unable to secure any of the limited edition releases that are coming out tomorrow. We suggest that you check out www.recordstoreday.com for other Chicagoland area record stores that may have some of the limited edition releases for sale.

We tried and ordered many of the record store day releases, but we weren’t shown any love from the record companies for these limited releases, not even for the Grateful Dead or Phish vinyl releases. I guess we don’t move enough music to warrant getting any of the limited record store day releases.

We do have some free jamband compilation CDs to giveaway. Some of the bands on these CDs include Drive By Truckers, Michael Franti, String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, Phish, & Toubab Krewe just name a few. These jamband compilation CDs are free while supplies last, and only at Sunshine Daydream Chicago.

Phish Festival - Super Ball 9 - July 4th Weekend

It's Phish's biggest. Ball. Ever. So big we can't. Contain it. In one sentence. Super Ball IX, Phish's ninth festival, will take place July 1-3 at Watkins Glen International. Located amidst the rolling hills of central New York's Finger Lakes region, the site offers an abundance of campsites and is just a short drive from numerous Northeastern cities. Super Ball IX will mark Phish's first-ever performance over July 4 weekend, and the first major music festival held at Watkins Glen since 1973's legendary Summer Jam. It is also Phish's first-ever performance at a facility with "Watkins" in its name.

Tickets for Super Ball IX go on sale this Monday, April 4th, at Noon ET at superballIX.portals.musictoday.com. On-site camping is included in the price of admission. Like previous Phish festivals, the event will include numerous activities, attractions and art installations in addition to a series of performances by the band.

Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies

One of the coolest Dead related things we have seen in a while. Every once in a while I'll be at a show and see someone wearing one of these Grateful Dead Alpaca Hoodies. I finally got myself one and in the process I was able to get some extra to sell in the shop.

We don't have a lot of them and I am not sure if we will be able to get anymore before Christmas. But these are the shit! 100% baby alpaca wool from a cruelty-free alpaca farm in Ecuador. The front has the dancing bears and the back has a huge Steal Your Face design, and boy are they toasty warm! It has 2 side pockets and zips up. They come in a few different colors, but we don't have all sizes in all the colors. We have so few that we are not even putting them on our website, so for now we are only going to sell them in our retail store in Lake Zurich, IL.

We want to use this logo in our advertising, on our website, and possibly t-shirts and other advertising and promotional specialties. In exchange for the logo design, the winning design will receive a $250 shopping spree from Sunshine Daydream, and if we ever make any promotional goodies with the logo, we’ll send you some of that schwag too. "Time Turns Elastic," a new track from Phish's forthcoming studio album, is now available to download exclusively at iTunes. Recorded in New York City, the as-yet-untitled record is Phish's first studio album in five years and its second with producer Steve Lillywhite, who produced the band's 1996 album, Billy Breathes. The circus is starting to arrive in town! It's gonna be a real good time! I can't wait!

Because of the Dead concerts at the Allstate Arena on May 4th & May 5th, Sunshine Daydream will have special store hours for those 2 days. Our shop will be open from 10am - 4pm on show days. Our regular hours will resume on Wednesday (Noonish - 9pm). If you are going to the shows and want to check out our shop, we are only 15 minutes north of the Allstate Arena. Show us your concert ticket and you'll save 20% on your store purchase, not including sale items.

We also have an extra pair of tickets for the Tuesday show which is "Cinco de Mayo". tickets are $95 each which is face value. Call the store if interested. 847-299-2622.

Put on your dancin' shoes, cause the circus is coming to town! Woohoo! I can't wait. The boys are going to rock on Cinco de Mayo! If you are going to the shows, we have a deal for you. We call it a hippie economic stimulus deal.

Our hippie shop is only 6 miles (15 min.) from the venue. If you are going to either Chicago show, stop in the store and show us your ticket. You'll save 20% off your store purchase. This applies to everything except sale items and is good from the weekend before the shows till the weekend after. Discount is good once per customer.
